Last week, I had the pleasure of touring a variety of venues for the upcoming Rural Renaissance Roadshow in beautiful Macon, Georgia. While in Macon, I enjoyed the wonderful hospitality of the folks at Visit Macon. Check out their YouTube Channel to learn about Macon’s rich music history, information on the Ottis Redding Museum, the Historic Grant's Lounge — which has featured artists such as the Allman Brothers, Tom Petty, and Eric Clapton — and more!
I am also grateful to have experienced the beauty of the Ocmulgee Mounds. While there, I learned about the Ocmulgee National Park and Preserve Initiative (ONPPI), a community-based group of Middle Georgia and Muscogee (Creek) Citizens who are working together to expand the current site of the Ocmulgee Mounds National Historical Park into Gerogia’s first National Park and Preserve. Save the date for November 11-14 to join us in Macon, GA, where you’ll have the opportunity to experience these beautiful sites as well as Macon’s downtown full of yummy places to eat and historic museums such as the Tubman Museum, Georgia Sports Hall of Fame, and the Museum of Arts and Sciences!
