Jaceey Sebastian

Jaceey Sebastian is an experienced business, church, community, and political leader with a strong background in research, strategic planning, community engagement, nonprofit management, and finance. He has worked with some of the country’s leading market research firms and has led teams across government, the private sector, and nonprofit organizations domestically and internationally. He served as a consultant to the United Nations Environment Program on the global Climate Change Impact and Adaptations Assessment study, which evaluated the effects of global warming and sea level rise, particularly on vulnerable populations. He also headed the data analysis team for Antigua and Barbuda, his birthplace.

As Chair of the Property and Finance Ministry, and an elder at Community Church Atlanta, Jaceey has been instrumental in developing the first community-owned resiliency hub in Atlanta at the VICARS Community Center in SW Atlanta. He also serves as a representative of Community Church on the Westside Resilience corridor of churches reflecting continued commitment to community development and resilience.

He is currently serving his second term as a councilmember, and previously served as Mayor Pro Tem, for the City of South Fulton, the second-largest city in Fulton County, Georgia. He was also one of the city’s founders in 2016. Before taking elected office in 2022, Jaceey led several local and regional initiatives to strengthen his community. His civic leadership has earned multiple honors, including the Everyday Hero Award from the Market Research Foundation and Quirk’s in 2021 and the District 67 Municipal Impactor Award from the State of Georgia in 2023 for his efficient, effective, selfless, and dedicated service to the state.

Jaceey earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree, with honors, from Baruch College in New York, where he majored in Statistical Data Analysis and minored in Sociology. He also holds specialized certifications in survey research and applied statistics, including certification in Survey and Census Methodology from the International Statistics Program Center at the Bureau of the Census in Washington, D.C., and postgraduate certification in Survey Methodology and Applied Statistics from the Center for Advanced Training in Applied Statistics in Munich, Germany.

Jaceey’s faith and family are at the heart of his service. He credits his faith in God and the support of his family with giving him the strength, purpose, and grounding to serve others.
